About

Bikes came into my life in 2003 when I served in Peace Corps Zambia. My bicycle was my lifeline to work, food and healthcare. When I returned home I found myself struggling mentally and the bicycle took on the added role of Therapy.

During the winter months I don't cycle as much, which led me to Sewing. I made a bicycle powered sewing machine and started to transform up-cycled inner tubes into wallets in 2022. Before I knew it I made three 'SewCycles' and now make belts and bags as well.

I love to combine bicycle inner tubes, up-cycled awnings, recycled ecopak and billboards to create rugged items that will serve and inspire folks to ride their bikes and get outside.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you sew all your gear?
SEWCYCLE!
I sew all of my belts, bags and wallets using bicycle powered sewing machines. I made my first one out of a classic Singer 66 and a vintage Schwinn exercise bike. My main industrial SewCycle I made from a Consew 255 and a modern Schwinn spin bike. They are as practical as they are fun.

Where do you get all your inner tubes?
I volunteer at Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg. I help to sort, save and patch all the tubes that are usable. All the rest I turn into belt, bags and wallets.
Recycle Bicycle is an amazing all volunteer organization in Harrisburg PA. They help people with bikes for transportation and recreation. Check them out.
